Genpak Manufactures Long John Silver’s Packaging Solution
For packaging that keeps food both hotter and crispier longer, Long John Silver’s (LJS) looked no further
than its longtime supplier partner Genpak, LLC for a solution.
The new absorbent foam container that Genpak developed found its first use in the QSR
industry
as a container for LJS’s traditional products, as
well as for the new
Freshside Grille menu items. (The material had previously been used in supermarkets.)
Headquartered in Glens Falls, N.Y., Genpak has manufactured packaging for the foodservice, bakery/processor and retail industries since 1969. The company operates 17 manufacturing facilities across North America, including R&D facilities in Middletown, N.Y., and Charlotte, N.C., both equipped with state-of-the art rapid prototyping technology.
“Innovation is our No. 1 priority,” said Steve Sugden, Director of National Accounts for Genpak. “With rapid prototyping, we can fabricate a product sample so our customers can evaluate it long before it
reaches the production stage.”
