Daniel E. Woodside
President and Chief Executive Officer
The leadership of Dan Woodside has propelled UFPC to become the world-class purchasing organization that it is today. Since UFPC’s inception on March 1, 1999, Dan has served as President and Chief Executive Officer, and has overseen the achievement of numerous objectives, most notably reaching the milestone of $1.1 billion in cumulative positive financial impact delivered to co-op members by 2007. With strong Board support, Dan’s vision formed the leadership team that continues to drive results for our concept co-op members by providing an ensured supply of specified products at the lowest cost. By focusing on excellence in purchasing, program management and distribution and pushing creative solutions to create value, Dan has earned the trust and respect of our owners, business partners, Board of Directors and team members. Dan has emphasized process and procedure where necessary, nurtured strong relationships and achieves great results by leveraging people talent. Dan continues to encourage UFPC to accomplish greater achievements by driving strategy, growth and team member development.
Prior to Dan’s current position with UFPC, he served as Chief Operating Officer of UniPro Foodservice, Inc. in Atlanta, Ga. UniPro was formed by the merger of EMCO Foodservice Systems, Inc. (of which Dan was president) and ComSource Independent Food Distribution in September 1997. Dan led the successful integration of the two cooperatives into the largest foodservice distributor cooperative in the Unites States, with annual sales in excess of $18 billion.
Before his tenure with EMCO, Dan served in numerous sales and marketing positions with General Foods Corp. Dan is a graduate of the University of Washington. He was involved with several foodservice organizations, including IFDA, IFMA, NACUFS, NCS and the Women’s Foodservice Forum. Dan is currently on the foundation boards of the Kentucky Center for the Arts, Jewish Hospital and The Heuser Hearing Institute.
