UFPC Reorganizes to Meet Growing Needs of Membership
Louisville, Ky. — Jan. 13, 2003 —
Daniel E. Woodside, President and Chief Executive Officer of Unified Foodservice Purchasing Co-op®, LLC (UFPC®), announced a major organizational re-alignment to meet the needs of the organization’s growing concept co-op membership.
Bill Bickley has been promoted to Executive Vice President/Chief Administrative Officer/Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Bickley will oversee the following departments: Accounting Operations, Credit, Information Systems, Planning, the Equipment Sales Group, Distribution/Logistics, Monitoring and Resource Services. UFPC Vice President Dale Holden will concentrate his efforts on Equipment Sales, a division that has seen extraordinary growth in 2002. Cris Cooney, Vice President of Planning, will add supply chain monitoring to his responsibilities.
Brink Bloembergen has been selected as the new Vice President, General Manager of the A&W and Long John Silver’s hubs. Mr. Bloembergen’s years of experience in Taco Bell program management will be of value to these new hubs. The A&W and Long John Silver’s hub offices are located in Lexington, Ky.
UFPC has created a new department called Multibranding. This department will address the unique challenges provided by the current trend of multibranding. The group will be led by newly appointed Vice President Tim Mueller. Senior Program Manager Dennis Britt, formerly a part of the KFC program management team, will transition to the Multibranding Department, managing the food and packaging side of multibranding initiatives. Stu Cox has accepted the position of Senior Director of Multibranding. With this move, Stu will focus on the equipment aspects of multibranding initiatives.
In light of these changes, John Eger has accepted the position of Senior Director of Purchasing, Food and Packaging, and Doug Stoner has been promoted to the position of Senior Director, Equipment Program Management and Distribution.
Finally, UFPC has resumed its relationship with the Unified Purchasing Group of Canada. In addition to her role as Vice President, General Manager of the KFC Concept Co-op, Alice LeBlanc will lead the integration of the Canadian Co-op into UFPC. Ms. LeBlanc will also be UFPC’s coordinator of beverage activities, working with each concept.

UFPC is a purchasing cooperative, which acts as a supply chain manager for corporate- and franchisee-owned A&W, KFC, Long John Silver’s, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell restaurants in the United States.
