Unified Foodservice Purchasing Co-op Launches New Company Logo
Louisville, Ky. — April 23, 1999 —
This week, Unified Foodservice Purchasing Co-op®, LLC (UFPC®) introduced its new company logo to more than 200 employees in Louisville, Ky., Dallas, Texas, and Irvine, Calif. UFPC’s logo was developed from the winning entry in the employee logo contest held in January.
"We believe that this symbol fully expresses our enthusiasm and commitment to this new organization," said Daniel E. Woodside, President and Chief Executive Officer of UFPC. "The potential we have as the purchasing co-op for Tricon’s company and franchise restaurants is invigorating."
The design consists of a navy blue triangle intertwined with three red and yellow "swirls" which imply a circle, a symbol of unity. UFPC was established March 1, 1999, as a merger — or unification — of the Foodservice Purchasing Cooperative and Supply Chain Management, Tricon’s purchasing group. UFPC utilizes the expertise of employees from both organizations to provide food, packaging, equipment and other services to KFC, Taco Bell and Pizza Hut restaurants. Since 1980, the Foodservice Purchasing Cooperative has provided a model for the development of purchasing cooperatives in the food service industry.
